Puckett Jr., a longtime resident of the area, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 5, 2010 in Liberty. He was 25.The son of Richard A. Puckett Sr. & Patricia Lossmann Sweet, he was born September 20, 1984 in Long Island, NY. Richard lived life to the fullest and was known for his big heart, as his many friends and family can attest to. He is survived by his mother: Patricia Sweet & her husband George of Mongaup Valley; his father: Richard A. Puckett Sr. & his wife JoAnn of Clyde, NC; a brother: Dylan A. Puckett of Mongaup Valley; maternal grandparents: Audrey & Frank Lossmann; paternal grandmother: Barbara Yoe; his step grandmothers: Letha Sweet and Bessie Conklin; his companion: Courtney Kashan; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and many area friends. Visitation will be held (today) Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will follow at 7pm at the funeral home with Rev. David Coon officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a local anti-drug organization such as DARE or Daytop.
