Church, Wurtsboro, NY Visitation: Wednesday, January 11, 2012 2 -4 and 7-9pm at VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc., Wurtsboro, NY BiographyAlfred Burgi of Wurtsboro, a retired pressman and longtime resident of the area, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 81.The son of the late Albert and Berta Burgi, he was born March 3, 1930 in Switzerland. A member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wurtsboro and the local German Club, Alfred was also an avid skier, coin collector and exotic car enthusiast. He also loved to travel, dance and listen to Big Band music. He is survived by a son: Alfred P. Burgi & his wife Ruth of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two sisters: Anna Maria and Trudy, both in Switzerland; his longtime companion: Carmella "Connie" Brandin of Wurtsboro; the mother of his son: Mickey Burgi of Canton, OH; special friends: Adam & Yolanda Hiller of Chester, and Mary & Chris Wingenter of Rock Hill; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12 at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating.
